Shibuya had a problem: public toilets were perceived as “dark, dirty, smelly, and scary,” making both tourists and locals reluctant to use them.
That’s when “THE TOKYO TOILET” project began! Shibuya City and The Nippon Foundation collaborated to transform 17 public toilets into artistic masterpieces.
The project features an incredible roster of participants, including architectural superstars like Tadao Ando and Kengo Kuma, along with 16 other world-famous creators.
